Ray is like the cape in Super Mario World, and gliding is fun to control when you get the hang of it allowing for ridiculous speedruns of acts. So Mighty and Ray: Mighty is like an easy mode where Spikes don't initially hurt him, and he has a ground pound, which allows him to reach new areas below ground. You can recover characters in certain item boxes and in the new Bonus Stages, a pinball minigame like the bonus tables in Sonic Spinball crossed with the character select in Knuckles' Chaotix. Sonic Mania itself is an excellent game, with nostalgic graphics and a great soundtrack, but one thing that bothers me and that I already mentioned was repeating the old scenarios, we've seen Green Hill many times, was it really necessary? Except that if I want to play in the classic scenarios, I simply play the classics that are even accessible on Sega Genesis Classic Collection.
